To all of our wonderful customers,
We wanted to let you know about a small change to our opening days.
Like many independent cafés, we are facing increasing financial pressures, with rising running costs and the recent increase in VAT making it more challenging than ever to keep going. We’ve looked at lots of different options to keep the café viable, and after a great deal of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close on Wednesdays from 15th July.
We will continue to be open Thursday to Sunday, 10am–4pm, and we’ll be here with the same friendly welcome and homemade food that you’ve always supported.
If you’d like to help support our small business, one simple way is to pay by cash where possible. This helps reduce the card processing fees we pay, meaning more of every purchase stays with the café. Every little really does make a difference.
Running a small independent café isn’t easy at the moment, but your continued support, kind words and custom mean more to us than you know.

Shirley's Cafe is the oldest cafe in Severn Beach
Come and visit us for breakfast, lunch and home-made cakes. We serve a wide variety of traditional English foods, along with a few overseas classics.
There is also a selection of traditional sweets for sale.

Indoor and outdoor seating is provided, depending upon your preference and the weather conditions. There is plenty of room for walking and cycling groups, and bicycles can be parked by the side of the cafe rather than being left on the street.
Only service & support dogs are allowed inside the cafe, all other well behaved dogs are welcome in the garden. Please keep your dogs on a lead and quiet for the comfort of our other patrons.
